New Beginnings was written at the start of 2023 upon me moving to Australia from New Zealand to study composition at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (The University of Melbourne). Amidst the doubt and nerves that come with taking such a life-changing step, writing (and later, playing) this piece continues to give me a sense of hope and excitement for this new journey in my life.
