Sea of the heart was written for the ANZVS composition competition as part of the International Viola Society - 44th International Viola Congress, Wellington, NZ in 2017. It was awarded Highly Commended. The music is based off the composer's own experiences of dealing with grief depicted by the waves and life of the ocean around Mauao - Mount Maunganui.
