About
This version of the traditional Chinese tune 'Jasmine Flower' for 2 flutes in C, alto flute in G, bass flute and piano is based on a transcribed arrangement of the tune for 2 flutes, 2 erhu (or violins) and piano made to accompany a Peking Opera dance performed by Mdm. Chen Bei-bei and young performers from the International Faculty at the 11th Give Voice to Women Symposium held at Sias International University, Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, China on the 11th of May 2017. The performers on that occasion included Italian flutists Beatrice Petrocchi and Vilma Campitelli.
This arrangement for flute quartet and piano was made for a performance at the University of Southern Mississippi on March 4th 2020 and is dedicated to Beatrice and Vilma and to their flute quartet, Quartetto Image.
