Like Memorial to Marti, this piece was also written in a chromatic chaconne style. The chromatic chaconne harmony consistently moves up by a half step from G min, B aug, C min and D aug to A flat min, C aug, D flat min and E flat aug. The systematic shift through all the of the keys is subtle, as the chords have common notes that disguise each key change.
