About
Real Mature is a vibrant collection of airs and dances for four violins, commended for it's "exciting technical demands and musical vitality" (RNZ Concert, Music Alive). The work was first performed by Quartetto Maduro (St Andrew's College, Christchurch) in the 2019 NZCT Chamber Music Contest, where they were national finalists.
Real Mature allows the intermediate violinist to explore extended techniques in an approachable and rewarding context. These include extended bowing techniques, scordatura tuning and free meter.
