One of five pieces composed over several years under the general banner of Piano Suite 2. This is loosely a set of continuous variations. There are hints of the older style circus, when animals were still part of the act, and when going to the circus under a big tent was still magical.
There are short sections when it's useful to have a left hand that can stretch tenths easily.
