About
The manifold nature of the self places the body as its physical limit, beyond which other versions extend. the pressure of small things presents a system in which the ensemble - a body of bodies - attempts to reach beyond its unified self, in an effort to escape its own corporeality. Shifting the emphasis from the musical to extra-musical material, the piece forces its focus towards methods of navigating the performer-instrument interface. In doing so, the materiality of the performers is foregrounded, such that their absolute humanity might become a formal aspect in itself.
