About

Green River is a work written for Javanese Gamelan (slendro). The work was written specifically for Wellington based group Gamelan Padhang Moncar to perform during their 2013 tour of Indonesia.

The first section of Green River is loud and energetic, and features a driving kendhang/ceng-ceng rhythm. The second section is a little more quiet and spacious, and features soft improvisations (such as vocals, violin, rebab or bansuri).
