About
"Two Transcriptions" combines two snapshots from Western music repertoire, transcribed for Javanese gamelan (pelog) - a peasant song and a 16th century canon. The latter makes a feature of the haunting sound of a musical saw, which weaves in and out of the gamelan's sonic textures.
