'Pictures' for ensemble juxtaposes moments of complex interlocking rhythms and melodic fragments with moments of silence and moments of stasis. The musical material that comprises this composition exemplifies a wide palate of articulation; the melodic fragments are based on the names of several core members of SMP Ensemble, to whom this composition is dedicated.
