Podroze ('Journeys') is the incredible story of an anonymous man's journey as a child in World War II: from Poland to the labour camps in Siberia, to Iran, and eventually to New Zealand as a 'Pahiatua child'. His story is punctuated and ornamented with electroacoustic sounds.

I am indebted to my storyteller for his kind patience and willingness to participate in this project, and I must also thank the following people who generously consented to my sampling of their material - Dr Allan Thomas, Dr Megan Collins, Farhad Bahrami, and hazure, laurent, ljudman & Ironi Alef from the project; the following brilliant musicians for allowing me to record them - Jonathan Berkahn (accordion), I Wayan Gde Yudane (percussion), Joel Gordon (percussion), Kylie Nesbit (bassoon), Andrzej Nowicki (clarinet), and Gamelan Taniwha Jaya; and Clare Tattersall for the beautiful French.
