This short work was written at the same time as the Quartet for Brass, and at the request of the same performer - Michael Martin, a student at New Plymouth Boys High School. This is a single movement work, rhapsodic in nature, with considerable use of imitation between the two brass instruments, and much use of repetitive accompaniment ideas in the piano.
