These four ragtime pieces were written for a call for short chamber music pieces for double reed instruments suitable for school groups. Originally written for three bassoons, the pieces were also subsequently transposed for three clarinets and for three saxophones (alto, tenor and baritone).
The set are all based on the typical melodic, harmonic and rhythmic characteristics of ragtime.
