About

As the Flowers Bloom and Fade is a collection of three songs that are based on the works of New Zealand poet, Ruth Dallas (1 91 9 - 2008). The titles remain true to the original poems. Common themes run through the entire set of pieces such as the passing of time and recurring cycles found in nature. Tinker, Tailor begins with a child-like simplicity with a piano line that is reminiscent of a music box. Night Rain is an energetic song that includes body percussion and accents that evoke the sound of pounding rain. Song in Summer is a beautifully simple song about observing time passing in a meadow and seeing the beauty in the small changes.
