About
The Space of an Afternoon is a three minute short film shot across Bangkok and Auckland, capturing a Kiwi photographer and a Thai soap actor at an afternoon photoshoot.
A meeting between two guarded characters acts as a parable of the connections we’ve made and lost in Asia across the pandemic, and the subtle languages we’ve built up to replace the intimacy of touch. It also speaks to the possibilities we can still achieve with each other despite distance.
Set in a photographer’s apartment at sunrise/sunset, we explore how ‘touch’ can occur in the metaphysical, across time, space and culture.
