About
This work was created for my ensemble 'The Irish Memory Orchestra', which mixes instruments from classical, Irish traditional, jazz and rock music. The orchestra always performs by memory and this symphony was tailored to them.
It is, as far as I am aware, the first ever symphony specifically created to be performed without sheet-music on stage. Though a score exists, there are many aspects of the piece that cannot be notated and are instead created in rehearsal and spontaneously in performance.
