About

Having set much of Jack Prelutsky’s “The Dragons are Singing Tonight” and “Awful Ogre’s Awful Day”, I have turned to his cycle of poems “The Gargoyle on the Roof”. This darker set of poems explores the world of gargoyles, werewolves and trolls.

This setting tells of the troll who lives under the bridge - you had better pay the toll to cross over, or else! Because his anger is even nastier than his greed.

“Beneath a Bridge (A Greedy Troll)” was written for Auckland Boys Choir and conductor Stuart Weightman
