About
This work was realised at CCMIX, Paris between February and May of 2007. Although not overtly political in any sense, the initial stimulation for this work was disbelief at the way human beings are rendered powerless by the careless stupidity of political agendas. This led to the question: what is a voice in this context?
The work evolved from experiments with three core sounds; a three note motif from collaborative recordings made with clarinettist Gretchen Dunsmore, the pure sound of a sustained female voice (Shanti), and a sample of George W Bush “It makes no sense to have a timetable”.
