About

Movement for Orchestra was composed in Dunedin, NZ in 1985. Using variation form for its structure, it opens and closes with a slow section in 4/2. It is written using an atonal harmonic language creating a somewhat sombre ambience.

Movement for Orchestra was given a workshop reading by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by John Hopkins in 1987. This event was recorded by Radio New Zealand's Concert FM.
