About
In his presentation 'nothing new here: quotation, erasure, quodlibet, palimpsest' Alex Taylor addresses the friction between seemingly opposing stances in composition: to look to the future, or borrow from the past? Alex refers to recent projects in which he engaged in "recomposition", or making "a meal out of whatever is left in the fridge." He was speaking at the 2017 Composers Association of New Zealand conference in Christchurch.
