A long-standing highlight of the second trimester, the New Zealand School of Music Orchestra, conducted by Kenneth Young, showcase both composition and performance in this concert.
The Anthony Ritchie Viola Concerto will feature soloist Helen Bevin, winner of the NZSM 2008 Concerto Competition.
Unbroken Chain by NZSM Honours Composition student and Farquhar Prize winner Pieta Hextall will premiere at this concert.
The remainder of the programme consists of the Mozart Magic Flute Overture, Borodin's The Steppes of Centreal Asia, and Symphony No. 9 in Eflat, Op. 70 by Shostakovich.
