The Choir

Sunday evening is the place to go for all things choral on BBC Radio 3. Aled Jones presents a series called "The Choir": exploring everything from plainchant to barbershop, oratorio and gospel, plus profiles of today's leading choral performers and composers.

The programme is available "online": as a podcast for a week following its initial broadcast.

In this, the third broadcast in the series, he presents choral music from Australia and New Zealand, including music reflecting the Maori tradition and the landscape of New Zealand, performed by two of its national choirs. The playlist for the programme included recordings of the works below:

Jenny McLeod: Childhood - song-cycle for chorus - Cocks crow
Ngapo Wehi (Wehi Whanau): Hinemoa
Gillian Whitehead: Taiohi Taiao
Wehi Whanau: Kuarongo
Eve de Castro-Robinson: Chaos of Delight III
