Trickier Tunes for Tamariki
by composers from Aotearoa New Zealand

cello player line art

The Wellington branch of IRMTNZ (New Zealand Institute of Registered Music Teachers) announced a call for scores in late 2023 to address the shortage of published solo music for grades 3-5 level by Aotearoa New Zealand composers for instruments other than piano.

Trickier Tunes for Tamariki was launched on 3 November 2024 at St Andrew's on the Terrace in Wellington. All the pieces were performed by young students and the event was recorded and filmed by SOUNZ. You will be able to enjoy these performances online later this year.

Trickier Tunes for Tamariki is now available to purchase from SOUNZ in two volumes, in both hardcopy and downloadable PDF format. Click below for score samples!
