About
Trickier Tunes for Tamariki by composers from Aotearoa New Zealand
Appealing original pieces, especially composed for cello students at grade 3, 4 or 5 level, with a simple piano or cello accompaniment.
Youth Music Festival Whakanui o Puoro is Wellington Branch IRMTNZ’s annual performance showcase for students of all ages and instruments, in which each performer’s programme must include a piece by a composer from Aotearoa New Zealand. The committee organized the Trickier Tunes for Tamariki project in order to provide more mid-grade repertoire for instruments other than piano. Pieces in this volume were chosen from composers’ responses to a call for scores.
