About
One of my biggest inspirations is the many styles of diverse music that come from Africa. This piece was partly inspired by the great Malian band The Super Rail Band.
The work begins with a bit of a strange fanfare-like opening and then switches to music influenced by the hypnotic rhythmic style of the Super Rail Band.
It ends with a bit a mix of Malian style melodic figures and Baroque sequences.
