About
The inspiration behind Glass Music was seeing the beauty in shattered remnants from my car windscreen which was flicked into non-visibility by a stone on a gravel road in mid Canterbury, as friends and I were travelling home after ice-skating on Lake Ida. This musical score consists of 5 different compositions, the first in four parts. Most of the short pieces use multiple keys simultaneously, so that the key in the right hand is different from the key in the left hand. While this multiplicity of keys increases the technical difficulty, the overall sound is shimmering to convey the sound of the title.
