About

Brian Flintoff told a story in his book Taonga Puoro: Singing Treasures about a waiata that Hirini Melbourne wrote for his granddaughter, Amokura, likening her to everything that he held precious. Sadly, Hirini’s original tune was never recorded, but after hearing this story and seeing the lyrics, Ariana was inspired to write a tune for it as a koha for Brian and Hirini’s whānau.
