About

This piece sets a poem descriptive of the season of autumn - the colours and scents of the season. Each of the five short stanzas addresses autumn as though it were a person, calling on autumn to respond with its typical features - the rustle of leaves, the harvest moon, the golden days and so on. The poem is by American poet Patricia L. Cisco and this was her first poem published on the internet.

Sing to Me, Autumn is scored for three percussionists along with piano. The percussion is mostly gentle and used to colour the choral textures. Sing to Me, Autumn was written for Choralation (Westlake Girls and Boys High Schools, Auckland) and conductor Rowan Johnston.
