Composed by the Free Radicals, a Wellington-based art music duo comprised of Jonathan Besser and Ross Harris.
I Do is based on an old and very scratched 78 recording of wedding vows, with and added commentary from Jonathan. The fragmented samples and use of found material is typical of Free Radicals, showing the influence of Brian Eno and David Byrne’s iconic album, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. It was released in the mid-80s on Bill Direen's South Indies label with a high quality video produced by Cottage Industries.
