This set of short pieces was written after the completion of a larger scale string quartet as slightly less structured snapshots on varied ideas. The title is a reference to Prokofiev's Visions Fugitives (fleeting visions). The fourteenth meditation is an epilogue which references each of the previous thirteen pieces.
