About

The Silver Poets were a group of 16th century English poets who composed mainly short poems, ballads and sonnets. They were particularly known for their technical skills rather than profundity of content. It has been suggested that the term relates to their ‘silver tongued elegance.’

"If Fancy would Favour" is concerned with the fickleness of love.
"Who has His Fancy Pleasèd" deals with the joys of true love.
"Ah Robin Jolly Robin", two gentlemen tell of their experiences of love.
