This octet was originally scored for melody instrument and piano (appearing in the CANZ-published book Music for Younger Players) and aims to musically recreate the “simplicity and beauty” of the collection ‘He Waiata Onamata (Songs from the Past)’, published by Te Reo Rangatira.
