About

Mt Erebus is the second highest volcano in Antartica and was the site of an Air New Zealand crash in 1979, which killed all 257 on board. In Greek mythology, Erebus was a god of darkness. This piece draws upon feelings of displacement and isolation, of stasis and beauty of sound in a desolate and pristine environment, which is harsh and unforgiving and yet also incredibly fragile.
