About

Modus Vivendi means ‘a way of living’, signifying agreement between those who opinions differ – this seems an apt description of chamber music itself. A group of distinct voices which have to accommodate each other’s sound and create a greater whole. Within this ensemble I have combined single and double reed voices, woodwind, brass and strings and of course the all-encompassing and unifying piano.

Commissioned note

Commissioned for a chamber ensemble of students at Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland, with funding from the Chin family
