The piece captures the setting of a typical New Zealand summer basking in heat, the salt sea, speedboats and the cacophony of birds.

This song was commissioned by the New Zealand Association of Teachers of Singing (NEWZATS) with assistance from Creative New Zealand for their 25th anniversary celebrations.

Composed to accomodate the demands of Level 3 NCEA.
