This piece was written in 1974 for the Whitstable Choral Society and the work was given three performances by them, the first with full orchestra, once with reduced orchestra and organ continuo and one with organ only in 1975. A further performance was given as part of the Ramsgate Festival by the Ariosa Choir of Canterbury the following year. The manuscript of the original score was lost and a new score was re-constructed from the original parts in 2005 for a performance by the Oswestry Choral Society and Oswestry Sinfonia.
