Carving was commissioned by The New Zealand Choral Federation, to be sung by the massed choirs at the Sing Aotearoa Festival, in Rotorua 2009. It is a song about that most wonderful and spiritual of arts, Māori wood carving. Taonga pūoro were played at the start, to provide an introduction to this song.
