The Maori Rhapsody, was first performed in 1939 by the Auckland Symphony Orchestra, and more recently by the University of Auckland Orchestra. The work was the first major New Zealand musical composition to be published with the assistance of the Australasian Performing Right Association, and has been performed by both the Sydney and Welsh symphony orchestras.
