About
This piece began life as a sound: a single sound culled from an electroacoustic piece I wrote while studying in London. Through the wonderful process of computer sound analysis, I extracted its component frequencies, and set them as the basis for all the pitches you hear in this piece. But this occurs very much on a background level, setting the scene for freer, more lyrical foreground material in much the same way that the bold brushstrokes and abstract splashes of colour in Monet's Nymphéas murals only take the form of a waterlily when you stand on the other side of the room.
