This joyful and lively work is a song of thanks and praise for the many features of the world around us. The text is by Reeve Lindbergh, and is based on the well-known Canticle of the Sun attributed to St. Francis of Assisi. Musically the work features much use of syncopation and cross-rhythm, within a strongly tonal setting.
