“Big Breakup (of course). Rescue by means of residencia as composer in residence in Wellington. Or rather, Paekakariki: full of Wairua, whose incarnations could be seen at Porirua. ‘My compliment to the glue-sniffers of Porirua’, is the dedication of the score, echoing the observation of my lately deceased old mum that she’d rather sniff glue than watch TVNZ.”
