If there is one aspect of human life common to all people and cultures it must surely be music. Of all musical expressions, human voices are often the most moving and engaging.
At the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul we have a long and celebrated tradition of choral music that has stirred the hearts of many thousands of people. Music is truly food for the soul.
It is no accident that this CD is being released during our 50th anniversary celebrations. Over the course of 2014, we have enjoyed the very best of our choral worship in diverse expressions of the faith. It has also been a time to remember that much of the music performed this year was written specifically for our choir. In that light, every piece on this CD is unique to our Cathedral musicians. May this music bring hope to all who listen.
As well as the works below, this CD also contains:
Timothy Hurd: Memento for an unknown warrior
Andrew Cantrill: Let saints on earth
Andrew MacMillan: Love me, for I love you
Philip Walsh: I will hearken
Philip Walsh: Beloved, let us love
