The APRA AMCOS NZ Silver Scroll Awards have just passed, and what an event they were, with SOUNZ composers winning big across a wide range of categories!
Nathaniel Otley won the SOUNZ Contemporary Award | Te Tohu Auaha for ‘the convergence of oceans’ for orchestra.
Composer Anna Coddington won the Silver Scroll Award for 'Kātuarehe'.
The Best Original Music in a Series Award | Tohu Paerangi went to Karl Sölve Steven and Rob Thorne for ‘Black Coast Vanishings’ and Steven also took home a second award, alongside Jason Smith, for their work in Never Look Away, the Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award | Tohu Pūmanawa.
And of course, beloved jazz musician Mike Nock (ONZM) was inducted into Te Whare Taonga Puoro o Aotearoa | The NZ Music Hall of Fame for his achievements as a performer, collaborator, musician, pianist, composer and educator.
And congratulations to all the other incredible SOUNZ artists who were finalists for various awards in this years Silver Scrolls - Stan Walker, Ihlara McIndoe, Karlo Margetić, Arli Liberman and Troy Kingi!
