Wellington-based wind quintet 'Got Wind of It' will share their enthusiasm with the Paekakariki audience in a concert featuring music by Gershwin, Malcolm Arnold, Beethoven, Debussy, Wellington’s own Ross Harris and Ligeti – the warm and listener-friendly Ligeti, they hasten to add.
Music lovers on the Coast may recognize some familiar faces in the group if they attend concerts in Wellington. They all regularly play for the Vector Wellington Orchestra on the concert stage as well as in the orchestra pit for operas, ballets and musical theatre. They also appear with the NZSO, and most of them played at Southwards recently with the Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
'Got Wind of It' comprises Jennifer Vaughan (flute), Louise Cox (oboe), Tui Clark (clarinet), Colin Forbes-Abrams (bassoon) and Erica Challis (horn).
