Join us for our final performance for 2024 – a world premiere of 'Drag Concerto' composed especially for Anita Wigl'it by Claire Scholes.
Here's the ACO at its grandest with a 40-piece orchestra – lush strings, feisty woodwinds, triumphant brass, groovy percussion and even a marching band. (Let's not forget piano and drum kit!)
Anita Wigl’it is the owner and resident queen of Auckland’s famous Caluzzi Cabaret. She is also the star of both Drag Race: Canada vs The World and RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under S1, as well as being the host of the Warner Brothers TV show House of Drag, and was nominated for New Zealand’s Television Personality of the Year 2021.
Also on the programme is the witty Le bourgeois gentilhomme – a delightful romp through the absurdities of social climbing and the folly of pretentiousness, all wrapped up in the exquisite orchestral mastery of Richard Strauss.
