To celebrate the centenary of the birth of Douglas Lilburn, Christopher Bowen and Alison Holden perform his songcycle Sings Harry ~ New Zealand’s most enduring collection of songs.
This recital will also be the New Zealand premiere of two new works inspired by Sings Harry and based on Denis Glover’s other man-alone characters: 'Arawata Bill' by Patrick Shepherd and 'Old Mick' by Lyell Cresswell.
To complete the programme oboist Stacey Dixon joins Christopher for a rare performance of 'Ten Blake Songs' by Lilburn's composition tutor Ralph Vaughan Williams.
