Music and the Environment
Join OCT Ensemble, the New Zealand Chamber Soloists and guest multidisciplinary scientist Monica Peters for a unique evening of music, science and visuals exploring our relationship to nature.
Spoken word and ideas will be beautifully woven through a gorgeous programme of music and visuals, making for an immersive and thought provoking experience reflecting on the environment and our world around us.

Our World is part of our mini festival CENTRAL CELEBRATES running 15-20 August, and in association with the University of Waikato and New Zealand Chamber Soloists.

- Messiaen | Le Merle noir | The Blackbird for flute and piano
- Bjorn Arntsen | Low Ceiling for OCT Ensemble (world premiere)
- Anthony Ritchie | Octopus for clarinet, bassoon, horn, string quartet and double bass
- George Crumb | Vox Balaenae | Voice of the Whale for flute, cello and piano
- Gareth Farr | Waipoua for clarinet and string quintet
- Beethoven | Septet (selected movements) for clarinet, horn, bassoon, violin, viola, cello and double bass
