KONO, Song cycle of a new town

Festival

Toi Warbrick (Warren and Virginia Warbrick) present a run of 10 performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018.

From the Fringe website:

"From prehistory to 1877, you choose which version of Scotsman J.T.Stewart's 'Palmerston' will be told through music by one of New Zealand's celebrated Māori instrument makers and his pure-voiced Pākehā wife. Direct from participating in the Medellin International Poetry Festival, Colombia, Warren and Virginia Warbrick are New Zealand artists who explore bicultural themes through music. Their 2017 project, Antipodeans, involved a fictional tunnel connecting Palmerston North with its antipodal point in San Martin de Valdeiglesias, Spain. The work was performed in both localities. KONO includes new music by Pepe Becker and Manaaki Tibble."
