Elision: The Wreck of Former Boundaries

A BLISTERING MELD OF CONTEMPORARY-CLASSICAL MUSIC Featuring amazingly visceral new works from composers Richard Barrett, Aaron Cassidy and James Gardener.

International contemporary music ensemble ELISION is dedicated to fine performances of the most cutting-edge music. This Australian ensemble is renowned across the globe and has played everywhere from the Berlin Philharmonie, to Saitama Arts Theatre Tokyo and the Pompidou Centre, through to our very own Sydney Opera House.

Their concert will feature a selection of amazingly visceral pieces including: Aaron Cassidy’s The Wreck of Former Boundaries, a blistering meld of live electronics and electric lap-steel guitar; and Richard Barrett’s impressive world-line, an interlocking cycle of compositions featuring the electric lap-steel guitar. Completing this impressive program of music will be Richard Barrett’s codex III and James Gardner’s Torc.

With trumpets, clarinet, alto saxophone, trombone, double bass in addition to the electric lap-steel guitar all featured in this multilayered performance, you are guaranteed to be immersed into an amazing sound world that erupts and explodes.
