Museum of Wellington City & Sea and Chamber Music New Zealand join forces this Matariki to bring to life the story of Ranginui (the sky father) and Papatūānuku (the earth mother).
Take a musical journey through all three floors of the award-winning museum with each space offering a new experience.
Talented local chamber musicians, taonga pūoro (traditional Māori instruments), classical instruments and New Zealand music combine to explore the Māori creation story of our land's movement from darkness into light.
There are two performances of this 1 hour family-friendly event in the same evening (5.30pm and 7.30pm).

Gillian Whitehead: Hineraukatauri Gareth Farr: Fanfare for Brass Quintet (première) David Farqhuar: Homage to Stravinsky Natalie Hunt: Matariki Gareth Farr: He Poroporoaki
along with improvised taonga pūoro works.
